I am a Ph.D. candidate in the department of Political Science at Washington University in St. Louis. I study comparative electoral and legislative institutions. I specialize on the interaction between the geographic distribution of preferences and the definition of geographic political boundaries (such as voting precincts and electoral districts) -- the ways in which we can understand the forms of this interaction and its political consequences. I rely heavily on applied quantitative methods and computer-assisted techniques in order to conduct my research.

I am a member of the Democratic Institutions Research Team, led by Brian F. Crisp.
